| September 2004 Monday 6th September 2004 NEW MD FOR RED MILL SNACK FOODS James McKinney has been appointed managing director by leading branded and private label savoury snack manufacturer Red Mill Snack Foods. Formerly commercial director, James has been with the Midlands-based firm; a subsidiary of Continental Foods, for the last five years. Prior to this he was at Best Foods for 11 years and spent four years with Lego & Premier Brands, gaining extensive sales & marketing and brand development experience across both UK and international markets. Commenting on his new role James said: “Red Mill's successful formula of product quality, innovation, generous bag fill and value-for-money has resulted in it becoming one of the UK's best respected suppliers of private label and branded snacks. “In the five years I have been with the company it has expanded considerably across a number of sectors and is currently enjoying a period of solid growth. “I plan to build further on this success through investment in new product development, our people and infrastructure and by broadening our customer base.” Red Mill is currently developing the UK's first chapatti-based snack in conjunction with Indian foods purveyor Patak's. Made from authentic Indian chapatti flour, the 'Chapatti Chips' range will be launched in October through leading retailers.
