| July 2006 Putting the Fun into School Snacking Red Mill’s Fun Snacks range enjoys a dominant share of the kids’ 10p snacks market and has been a staple feature of the school lunchbox for many years. Well established brands such as Tangy Toms, Quarter Backs, Onion Rings and Krunchie Sticks are popular buys among snackers of all ages, but especially within the four to nine year olds age bracket. The Fun Snacks range was revamped earlier this year. There are now eight lines thanks to the addition of Spicy Spaceballs, plus all products have bright newly designed metalised foil packaging for improved shelf appeal. Red Mill has also reviewed how Fun Snacks are made. The range now features reduced salt levels plus fewer additives and preservatives across all lines. Sarah Nunn, Red Mill’s marketing manager, said: “We have reviewed the range to maximise its appeal to children as well as health conscious parents. “All products in the range are baked, which makes them better for you than standard fried snacks, and have nutritional information clearly visible on the front of the pack. “Great value has always been key to the success of Fun Snacks and therefore bag prices remain fixed at 10p to ensure they are in line with young budgets and pocket money purchasers.” The Full Range: - Tangy Toms Tomato flavour corn snacks - Quarter Backs American cheeseburger flavour corn snacks - Petrified Prawns Prawn flavour corn snacks - Onion Rings Fried onion flavour corn snacks - Oinks Bacon flavour corn snacks - Krunchie Sticks Salt and vinegar flavour corn and potato sticks - Cheesy Nibbles Cheese flavour corn snacks - Spicy Spaceballs New addition, fantastic spicy taste All lines retail at 10p and contain around 100 calories per pack.
